Base Preparation
It is important to provide a firm and level base for your new shed as a good base can prolong the longevity and can prevent deterioration.
It is important to have the correct base in place when we arrive to fit your shed. We highly do not recommend any sheds to go on a base that draws in water as this can rot the timber floor frames a lot quicker than usual. ( Grass, Certain Pebbles, A base that gathers sitting water)
If you are having your shed erected onto a pre-existing concrete surface or platform that is dry, level and free of debris this will be suitable.
We ask for all bases to be at least 12 inches away from the wall or fence it may be going against due to the 2 inch over hang around the shed (from the roof). This also allows rain water to drain properly off of the shed and not onto a fencing panel or wall.
We recommend:
- Concrete Slabbing
- Pebbled base (that can drain water efficiently)
- A timber base (that will not get wet and isn't rotten already)
- Plastic gridding filled with pebbles - this can be purchased online or at B&Q.
